Site Update

Just a quick note to patrons of this humble site. I’ve changed the comment approval process. Now, comments will be posted without approval as long as the poster includes their e-mail address. I don’t collect the information, it is just used for authentication.

Also, please keep your language family appropriate. I retain the right to remove content I deem inappropriate to the site.

Thank you.

Coming Soon to this site…

You know, there are certain things I want for my site that it just being a blog isn’t doing for me. I want to have better galleries and places for other content. Right now I can’t (easily) put that content here. I have plans to change that.

The blog isn’t going away. No, in fact it is still an important part of the site. The place I can put new written content. But it will become just a component of the site. The main portion will be more static and therefor doesn’t need to be as “live” as the blog.

Before I went with the blog I designing a new site. When I go back and look at it, it is a design I still like. I also like the way I designed it to manage my content and how I managed to integrate the photo galleries from Aperture into it fairly seamlessly.

Ultimately, it means the blog will get a new address which mean the RSS feed will change. So, that’s the real reason for this post, to give you a heads up that the change is in the works.

Stay tuned for more.

Another Day, Another Theme

Writing a theme may prove difficult. I don’t seem to have the time to research what it will take to create the look of the site site what with work and my busy social schedule. Most annoying.  However, it turns out to be very simple to find free WordPress themes and just use those. I think I may stick with this one a while. It’s clean and simple. I kind of like it.

No Big Change After All

So, If you were thinking you would find a big change here visually (if you somehow stumbled upon this site) then you will be disappointed. I haven’t had the time to research themes for designing my own.

So it appears I lied about the rapid change of the look of this site. I guess it is safe to say it will change as it changes.I have however been experimenting with the gallery plugin I added.

In doing so I have added a gallery of the trip I took to Acadia National Park last June. It is the first addition of many galleries I will be adding. Otter Point

On Categories and Their Significance in Site Navigation

One of the items I have never thought much about in the world of blogging is the category. I believe I have also seen it referred to in other context as tagging. Either way, I ignored them. That was until I started developing a site of my own.

I realized I can write any sort of post and you wouldn’t know whether I made it up or it was a real thing. In other words, fact or fiction. Well, I am going to make it easy for you my categorizing my content so you know the difference.

What I like about this option is that I can freely combine fact and fiction without being concerned whether you believe me or think I am nuts. Or visa versa.

In addition, it will be easier for you to seek out the different forms of content I will provide. As the site evolves, look for the categories listed in the side bar.

I look forward to the option of one day writing the tale of my trip to the big city and then the next writing an article better suited for the Weekly World News.Boy oh boy, can’t hardly wait.
