No Big Change After All

So, If you were thinking you would find a big change here visually (if you somehow stumbled upon this site) then you will be disappointed. I haven’t had the time to research themes for designing my own.

So it appears I lied about the rapid change of the look of this site. I guess it is safe to say it will change as it changes.I have however been experimenting with the gallery plugin I added.

In doing so I have added a gallery of the trip I took to Acadia National Park last June. It is the first addition of many galleries I will be adding. Otter Point

On Categories and Their Significance in Site Navigation

One of the items I have never thought much about in the world of blogging is the category. I believe I have also seen it referred to in other context as tagging. Either way, I ignored them. That was until I started developing a site of my own.

I realized I can write any sort of post and you wouldn’t know whether I made it up or it was a real thing. In other words, fact or fiction. Well, I am going to make it easy for you my categorizing my content so you know the difference.

What I like about this option is that I can freely combine fact and fiction without being concerned whether you believe me or think I am nuts. Or visa versa.

In addition, it will be easier for you to seek out the different forms of content I will provide. As the site evolves, look for the categories listed in the side bar.

I look forward to the option of one day writing the tale of my trip to the big city and then the next writing an article better suited for the Weekly World News.Boy oh boy, can’t hardly wait.

What now?

What on earth? How did this theme appear? What happened to your custom theme? Well, I said I was thinking of starting it over from scratch. Well I did and it doesn’t quite work yet. This is only temporary. I hope to have it working by next week. Check back then.

Minor Changes

Well, I guess having a blog means I should, well, blog. So, here is that latest status for the site.  I have decided I will create my own style-sheet for the site from scratch.

I have tried building it based on other templates I have downloaded, but for the most part, I’m not satisfied with the way people code their CSS. It may be that they are doing it the proper way, or for legibility, or because it works better for cascading. All I know is they break a tag into several different style definitions and it really annoys me.

For my purposes and the way I work, I will be keeping it simple. As a matter of fact, I already started a sight design which this current look I based upon.

However, altering this existing CSS is turning out to be a pain in the butt. So I will start all over soon. You will know when I have because the site will go through a period of looking real bad. Not like it looks today.

A New Begining

Okay, so another big change to the site.

I have decided to try a different content engine for the site. I’ve heard good things about WordPress so I thought I would give it a go.

As before, stay posted….
